Wounded Warriors Family Support recently hosted Jennifer Funkhouser and her daughters, Kaitlyn and Allison, at the Wounded Warriors Family Support Bahama Bay condominium in Orlando.

Her husband, Captain James "Alex" Funkhouser, died of wounds on May 29, 2006.

He joined the Army in July 1991 as an enlisted soldier and worked his way through the ranks to staff sergeant. He then took a "Green to Gold" scholarship and was commissioned as a second lieutenant into the US Army by his father on August 6, 1999.

Captain Funkhouser deployed to Iraq with the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division based in Fort Hood, Texas.
